Story
Dear Family, Friends Home & Away & Work Colleagues of Auto & General Insurance & Other Sponsors
I am at last going to achieve the No.1 GOAL on my Bucket List & Run a Marathon.
Not just any Marathon though .... The Schneider Electric Paris 2014 Marathon, which may I add is not just round the corner from Australia.
My Story So Far.....
I started running to keep fit & lose weight after giving up smoking back in Scotland November 2006.
I ran my first 10k in Edinburgh for Cancer Research UK with a group of running buddies in July 2007 & from that day clearly caught the running bug.
Many races followed including The Great North Run until my departure from the UK in March 2009.
During my first year in Australia (Tasmania) I lost my running Mojo, however a move to the Sunshine State of Queensland and a more settled me saw my running resume with a new passion in January 2012.
From here my journey has gone from Strength to Strength, thanks to the unconditional support of my family & friends. Many Kilometers have been covered right here in North Lakes & surrounding areas, including Gold Coast & Brisbane Half Marathons, which has now lead to this crazy dream/goal, which only I can make happen.
My Mission ......A Purpose/Reason to Complete 42.2k and .....
Raise funds for ACT FOR KIDS - A Charity which Prevents & Treats Neglected & Abused Children, who unfortunately have not had the same priviledges or opportunities that I or my own children have been blessed with in life.
Please donate generously to my cause & keep me in your thoughts as I start my 42.2k race around Paris on Sunday 6th April.
