Wings For Life PARAQUAD SA

Story

HOMECARE PLUS’ Danielle Taylor to run in World-wide marathon in support of PARAQUAD SA

HOMECARE PLUS Client Administration Officer, Danielle Taylor (pictured), will run in the Wings for Life World Run in Western Australia in May 2014, to raise awareness of and funds for spinal cord injury. One hundred percent of the proceeds from Danielle’s entry fee will go to the Wings for Life Foundation – www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com – which funds research into spinal cord injury. Danielle will also raise funds for PARAQUAD SA, by gaining sponsorship from her friends and family, and through the support of the clients, members and staff of PARAQUAD SA and HOMECARE PLUS.

The run will unite athletes around the world, in one race, running for those who can’t. The Wings for Life World Run is the first event in which the entire world can race together, simultaneously. This groundbreaking race format means that on the 4th of May 2014, at 10am UTC, thousands of competitors will start to run on up to 35 race tracks worldwide. On this day the world will run as one.

Each person will run as far as possible before being caught by a catcher car. Danielle is aiming to reach 33-35km before being caught in the only Australian event which will be on Sunday 4th May at 6pm in Busselton, WA.

Danielle has worked in HOMECARE PLUS for nearly two years now, which she admits has been an eye opening experience for her. She has learnt a great deal about spinal cord injury, our clients and their daily needs and requirements, and also what a wonderful job our HOMECARE PLUS Support Workers undertake every day. In Danielle’s personal life, she spends a lot of time running and has been running for many years. Danielle has taken part in 4 Ironman events and three Marathons... and has so far survived all of them!

If you would like to support Danielle’s efforts to raise vital finds for the services PARAQUAD SA provides, please donate now.
