Hi there!
My name is Prasanna, and I'm running for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
I am a member of the Parent Advisory Group for our 3-year-old son's kindergarten, St Luke's Preschool, which is a small community kindergarten in Mount Waverley, Victoria, Australia. The Covid-19 social isolation measures mean that we have not been able fundraise for essential equipment through our regular events. And unfortunately, our vacuum cleaner has broken down and we need desperately need a replacement. A new vacuum cleaner may not sound like much, but as the kindergarten continues to operate throughout this difficult period, keeping our premises clean is vital to the health and safety of our children and staff.
I love to run, so to raise money for this cause, I'll be running 50km around the kindergarten carpark, beginning 9am, Saturday 4 July 2020. One loop around the carpark is about 80 metres, so that means I will run 625 laps. Yep, that's a lot of laps. I'm hoping to raise about $500, or $10 per kilometre as we are aiming to purchase a mid-range commercial vacuum cleaner.
