Story
Keeping with the theme of 2020 (ie. absolutely mental), I thought I would run a MARATHON!
However, I thought that if I'm going to make a commitment such as this then I should absolutely use it for some greater good. As some of you may know in 2019 we lost Roz Horne to bowel cancer; a disease that 1 in 13 Australians will develop in their lifetime.
It is my hope that my training will not only raise some much needed dollars to support Bowel Cancer Australia's research, but to raise awareness regarding early detection for this disease.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Bowel Cancer Australia. Any donation - however big or small - is so very much appreciated. If money isn't something you can spare at the moment then I simply ask that you check out the Bowel Cancer Australia link on this page, have the conversation with your loved ones (particularly those over the age of 50) and/or share this post! Almost 99% of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully if detected early.
Race day is set for September (provided COVID-19 doesn't ruin that too!) and I'll be sure to keep all of you up to date with my progress along the way!!
