On Sunday, 19 November this year I'm participating in the Sydney Run for Palestine in the hope of making a positive difference for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.

The Run for Palestine is a national event that operates concurrently in 4 Australian capital cities; Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth & Sydney. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the Palestinian cause and to fundraise for projects that assist the lives of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.

 This year, the Sydney Run for Palestine will raise funds for the refugees at Bourj al-Barajneh Camp in Lebanon. There are approximately 40,000 Palestinian refugees in this Camp, who live without citizenship, without proper water and electricity infrastructure, and without the right to work or own property. Generations of people have been forgotten behind the walls of this Camp, since they were expelled from their homes in 1948 and not permitted to return.

As Nelson Mandela said, "We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians" and that Palestine remains "the greatest moral issue of our time."
