Story
Family, Friends and Colleagues,
I am participating in the Noosa Triathlon on Sunday, 4 November 2018 to raise funds for Dementia Australia. This consists of a 1.5 km ocean swim, 40 km bike ride and a 10 km run.
Please help me raise funds to make a difference for Australians living with dementia.
Dementia Australia represent over 413,106 Australians living with dementia and an estimated 291,163 Australians involved in their care. Dementia Australia advocates for the needs of people living with all types of dementia, and for their families and carers by providing support services, education and information.
The work of Dementia Australia is vital in continuing towards a society that is kind to people with dementia, and where friends, family and loved ones can openly seek and gain support in their time of need. With dementia now the second highest leading cause of death in Australia, the services of Dementia Australia are now more important than ever.
Right now there are more than 425,416 Australians living with dementia, and we know the number is going to rise to more than 1 million by 2050. Dementia Australia relies on wonderful people like you to help reach those in need.
Together, we can continue to work towards a society that is kind to people with dementia, and where friends, family and loved ones can openly seek and gain support in their time of need.
The funds raised will be used to assist in the provision of services, such as:
• the National Dementia Helpline;
• early intervention programs;
• National Younger Onset Dementia Key Worker programs;
• Dementia and Memory Community Centres;
• Counselling;
• Carer support groups;
• Education for family carers; and
• Public awareness activities.
Any contribution you can make, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support!
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice, Dementia Australia.
Dementia Australia
Dementia Australia is a unified, national peak body for people, of all ages, living with all forms of dementia, and their families and carers. We provide advocacy, support services, education and information, as well as fundraise and facilitate research into dementia.
We aim to give people living with Dementia the respect they deserve and the support they need. We advocate to government and industry on behalf of people living with dementia, their carers and families and work hard to raise community awareness and understanding of dementia. Please visit www.dementia.org.au to access a wide range of resources and how to contact our National Dementia Helpline.
Community support through donations and sponsorship, as well as bequests, is vital to the continuation and growth of our work.
