A Journey For Jenny

Story

Hey Everyone,

In 2013 I took on the challenge of running my first marathon and despite the 3 weeks of pain that followed the race it was one of the best experiences of my life. After having a year off I have decided to take on the challenge again, running in the Melbourne Marathon on October 18 this year. However, this time round I will be running for a different reason.

Those who know me well know that I am passionate about only a few things in life with one being the West Coburg Football Club. Another person who loved West Coburg just as much as myself was a lady named, Jenny McMillan. Jenny's sons, Tom and Dave have played for the club for many years and her constant support of the football club in many roles on and off the footy field over many years made her essentially the First Lady of West Coburg. Jenny had such a caring nature that she was the type of person that loved everyone and everyone loved her. Unfortunately after a brave fight, she lost her battle with cancer and passed away in November 2013.

In memory of a sensationally wonderful lady that touched many people's hearts I have decided to call upon all to help myself raise money in the lead up to the marathon for a very worthy cause, The Cancer Council Australia. 1 in every 2 men and 1 in every 3 women are diagnosed with cancer throughout their life and the Cancer Council does everything possible to help those people and their families that lives are affected by this terrible disease.

Whether you knew Jenny McMillan or you just want to show your support for such a worthy cause please donate what you can, big or small, as it will not only help to motivate myself as I take on the 42km journey but it will also help the lives of many and their families.

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly to The Cancer Council Australia. Also, feel free to give any donations to myself and I will forward them onto the charity.

Thanks so much for your support!

RIP Jenny McMillan

Always Smiling,
Eugene Pring
