As some of you will remember, in October 2023 I was meant to be taking part in the Perth Running Festival, but 6 weeks before the run I was on the receiving end of the words "You have bowel cancer". Not something you expect to hear at the age of 40. So I had to give up on the idea of the Perth Running Festival because in those 6 weeks I had had loads more tests, a major surgery, started to recover and started chemotherapy leaving my Dad to run the 10k on my behalf for Cancer Council. 

This year....I am cancer-free, recovering well and.....I WILL DO IT MYSELF!

I am running the Perth Running Festival 10k to raise money for Bowel Cancer Australia who have supported me throughout my bowel cancer "experience" over the past 12 months. Their help and support has been invaluable to me, and plenty of others, with bowel cancer nurses, nutritionists and oncology social workers on hand as well as connection to other bowel cancer sufferers/survivors.
