Hi there!
I am running the City to Surf in August 2014 to raise money for The Anganwadi Project with my work colleagues.
The Anganwadi Project is a not for profit Australian grassroots charity raising money to build pre-schools in the slum areas of Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India.
They provide simple, safe, environmentally sustainable and beautiful learning spaces by sending volunteer teams of qualified design professionals to build schools and centres. Here children of all denominations benefit from a nurturing environment as well as an education, hygiene and nutrition to better their health and opportunities.
The Anganwadi Project’s relies solely on donations from individuals and companies for funding. Volunteers pay their own way and give their time to the project free of charge.
Since 2005, The Anganwadi Project has completed 12 anganwadis, with the 13th anganwadi currently being built.. TAP’s goal is to continue to build one to two new pre-schools each year with the incredible contribution of our dedicated volunteers in India who make bring these schools come to life.
I visited the Anganwadi project in Feb 2014 and visited some of the schools and lots of the beautiful children. I have seen first hand the wonders that this cause produces for young lives and would appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.

The Anganwadi Project is looking for your support to continue building pre-schools in disadvantaged areas of India.
TAP designs and builds anganwadi (preschools) within the informal settlements of Ahmedabad, Gujarat and rural areas of Andhra Pradesh alongside our local partners and communities.
These small buildings make an enormous difference by giving young children the best possible start in life through a beautiful, well-designed and built, safe space to receive an education and good nutrition.
The Anganwadi Project relies solely on the generosity of donations from our supporters and sponsors. Please help us continue our work by making a donation to the project. All donations are tax deductible in Australia.
