Fundraising for Cerebellar Ataxia Australia
Fundraising for Cerebellar Ataxia Australia
Story
Hi there!
Catch David Woods and Rob Balestrin participating in the the City-To-Bay Fun Run this Sunday September 15th and in the Melbourne Marathon Festival on Sunday October 13th rallying support for Cerebellar Ataxia Australia. With no cure in sight, it's all about research and backing to make strides!
You may not realise but my Sunday long runs have mainly been with Rob, and this has greatly supplemented our other training and will put both of us in a great position to achieve our running goals come October 13th.
For David “dealing with this chronic disease has thrown me off balance, making each step a wobbly adventure. Despite the hurdles, I'm lacing up my shoes, determined to take on this challenge and shed light on the obscure world of Ataxia.” Ataxia is a rare condition for which there is no cure or treatment, research and support is the only way to get there. Let's race towards awareness and support!
All illnesses have the potential to affect the way we feel, but when it is a condition that won’t go away and changes our lives in BIG ways, we often need to make very big adjustments to living with the disease. Running is a big part of my life, not only for the exercise benefits but it’s also a big contributor in improving my mental health. Although running a 10km event may not seem a great challenge for the mere mortal, this is for me, having a why gives me purpose and creates drive and determination, and overall the support gives me the belief.
Rare is Strong, Rare is Proud, Rare is Many
Any donations are greatly appreciated :) (and please let us know if you'd prefer to donate via another means we are more than happy to help)
If you have any questions or comments please let me know.
