6Foot Track Marathon
6Foot Track Marathon
Story
I am running the Blue Mountains Sixfoot Track Marathon, on March 11th. This is an epic 50km run, however it’s nothing compared to the difficulties others can face to simply gain an education.
The LBW Trust is an organization that provides support to economically disadvantaged students in developing, (cricket playing) countries to help them complete their tertiary or vocational education. It is currently supporting over 2,000 students, whom, without the support of the Trust, would be unable to attend a tertiary or vocational institution. The Trust believes that education is the means for young women and men to free themselves from the poverty cycle.
One truly inspirational story is one of Dr Kakenya Ntayia, whom at the age of 7 made a bargain with her father not to marry, but to go to school. Today she is giving this right to other women, and we can assist her to ensure these women complete their education. (See Kakenya's Dream - the Academy for Girls). )
Please help the Trust by sponsoring me for every kilometer completed, any amount appreciated. Plus donations are tax deductible.
The Trustee for The LBW Trust
The LBW Trust was established in 2006, with the belief that people in the cricket-loving world can work together to level the playing field in global education. LBW stands for “Learning for a Better World”, and reflects the cricketing foundations of the organisation, and the belief that education is the pathway to a better future for disadvantaged youth (see www.lbwtrust.com.au).
