I have recently committed to improving my overall health through running and want to ink this to a worthwhile cause.

My commitments: Running >20km on average per week until Christmas; Running the 2024 Adelaide City to Bay, (15/09) Running the 2024 Melbourne Marathon (13/10); Running the 2024 Victor Harbour Half marathon (01/12).

Why The Fred Hollows Foundation: There are a lot of statistics available but approximately 90% of vision loss is treatable and there are around 1 billion people who have vision impairment/loss which could have been prevented, with 9/10 of these people belong to low-income countries (feel free to fact check me). This has an enormous impact on people's quality of life and productivity in general. As someone who has poor eyesight, most of what I do in my life would not be possible without glasses/contact lenses. A donation of only $25 can result in cataract treatment being provided to restore a person's sight!
