Story
In December 2024 our beloved Mike lost his courageous battle against bowel cancer.
We are running the Newcastle Half Marathon on April 19th in Mike’s honour.
Our goal is to raise funds for Bowel Cancer Australia, the leading community-funded charity dedicated to the prevention, early diagnosis, research, and quality treatment and care for all those affected by bowel cancer. We also want to highlight the growing prevalence of bowel cancer in younger people and encourage preventative action. In Mike’s words, "Check your poop” and make an appointment with your GP if you notice any unusual changes. Every step we take in this run is dedicated to Mike’s memory, and to preventing others from facing the pain and heartache that Mike and Brodie have had to endure.
