Max & Carmen Drake
Story
Hi there!
We are making a difference and running for a cause that's close to my heart.
Max & I will be running in the Great Ocean Road Running Festival for the very best of reasons. A dear friend’s 5 year old son Rory was diagnosed in May 2018 (only 3 days before last years GOR Run) with a large tumor in his upper spinal cord and other tumors throughout his brain and spine. His case (Disseminated Glioneuronal Tumors) is extremely rare and one of only 200 know cases worldwide ...
Max is running the 6km on Saturday and I am running the half on Sunday.
We are raising money for research into childhood brain cancer so no other family has to go through this heart breaking journey.
We would appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!
The Robert Connor Dawes Foundation (The Trustee for)
SUPPORTING BRAIN MATTERS
The Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation - In memory of Robert Connor Dawes. We support brain cancer matters in the areas of Research, Care and Development.
RESEARCH:
Brain tumour research is on the verge of exciting breakthroughs. We want to enable researchers to further understand and more completely treat brain tumours, including earlier detection, surgery and post surgery treatments (radiation & chemotherapy).
CARE:
Supporting young people with rehabilitation therapies and home assistance commonly not covered by insurance.
DEVELOPMENT:
Inspiring the next generation of brain cancer practitioners & researchers. Through awareness programs, Phd Scholarships and youth engagement activities, we're putting brain matters on the map.
