Story
Hi there all!
Last year I ran 500km in June to raise money for The Smith Foundation. This year I wanted to do one better, and run 1000km in the month of May for Flicker of Hope, a nonprofit organisation that raises money for medical research into Neurofibromatosis. For those who don’t know, NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumours to grow on nerves all throughout the body. This disease hits close to home for me, as my lovely grandma has been dealing with a type of NF called for schwannomatosis, for most of her life. It means that people like her are dealing with chronic pain each and every day, and currently there is no cure for NF. I am hoping to run 1000km to raise $1000 for research for this disease so that one day people with NF can live free of pain. Any small donation to show your support for my run and people affected by NF/Schwannomatosis would be very greatly appreciated. I will keep you updated during my challenge and you can follow my runs on Strava.
100% of the funds raised by flocked of hope will help to shine a light on NF and will directly fund meaningful research into NF
Thanks so much for your support!
Love Bailey

Flicker of Hope Foundation Limited
The Flicker of Hope Foundation was inspired by Zoe – who was diagnosed with NF at four months of age. Zoe loves to dream big … and she dreams of a bright future for all those affected by NF. In 2018 Zoe and her family established Flicker of Hope to raise much needed funds to support researchers in their quest to find positive treatments and improve the quality of life for those impacted by NF. Thanks to the generous support of individuals, businesses, community and school groups Flicker of Hope has raised over $3 million in six years. 100% of this amount has been donated to fund essential research into NF. Please join us on this journey – a journey that may be life changing for those impacted by NF.
