Australian Breastfeeding Association
From our beginnings in suburban Melbourne in 1964, the Australian Breastfeeding Association has grown into a national organisation dedicated to the support of breastfeeding mothers and babies. Our Association’s strong practical support and advocacy for mothers wanting to breastfeed their babies has been credited, since the 1970s, with increasing breastfeeding rates in Australia.
Our organisation provides support, information and resources to breastfeeding women to assist them in making informed choices. Our National Breastfeeding Helpline is available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, mothers can attend local groups and breastfeeding education classes for face-to-face support. Evidence based resources covering a wide range of topics are available along with articles and information that can be accessed on our website.
The Association is recognised as the leading authority on breastfeeding in Australia and also enjoys an enviable reputation around the world.
It is our mission to see breastfeeding recognised by all Australians as important and culturally normal. http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au
