Sydney to Wollongong walk for a cause!
Sydney to Wollongong walk for a cause!
Story
Hey there everyone!!
As a lot of you may or may not be aware suicide is our nation's biggest killer for people aged 15-44, and there are countless numbers of attempts that go unnoticed and unrecorded. The number of suicide deaths in Australia is almost double the number of deaths in road related transport.
For me personally, I have recently lost a cousin to suicide, and this came as a complete shock to me and my family, as well as my cousin's friends and colleagues. For every suicide there are countless numbers of people-familes, friends and colleagues - who are mourning the loss of their loved one.
So, with all this being said, I am setting up a fundraising event in the name of suicide awareness and prevention.
On September 5 this year, myself and a group of friends are going to walk from Sydney to Wollongong to raise money for this important cause.
All money raised will be donated to the Lifeline charity, who already do an amazing job in supporting what this is all about, but much needed funding is needed. If just one life can be saved, one person to pick up that phone and make a call for help instead of taking the 'other option' , then this will all be worth it.
Any donation amount will be gratefully accepted, be it $1,$10 or $100!!!! So start spreading the word about this event and getting people/businesses onboard in any way, shape or form possible!! All help will be much appreciated.
My contact number and email are listed below, and there are links on the page to guide you to making a donation.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated to help fight this problem in our great land and worldwide!
Cheers
